We started the lowercase alphabet last week (I'll post that next week) and I'm already excited about some of the letters that we will be doing! If you have any ideas about what we can do for some of the letters please let me know!

Finally finished

I made these cute 'personalized' wall hangings for my 1 year old twins. Their room is complete except for hanging some floating shelves that we don't have yet! They were really cheap (free) to make since I already had all of the materials. I used one sheet of double sided scrapbook paper for the monkeys, tree branch and names. I used two more sheets for the background cut to fit the frame.

Nathans name wasn't glued which is why it is crooked, I was trying to decided which way I like better. In the end, I turned Nathan's horizontal like Hunter's.

A view of their room. The frames are centered on the wall and not above the cribs since they will only be in the cribs for another 6-12 months.

The frames say "My Little Monkey" and came from Kohl's last year. The banks came from Target and one day I will put their names on them. The lamp was given to me before Jayme was born.

These cute monkeys were also from Kohl's and part of the same collection as the frames pictured above.

J, K, L and M

The past couple of weeks we've been working on J, K, L, and M. We didn't get much done because of my parents visiting, Cody and I going out for the day, Memorial Day, and a Braves game the day after. We also had a sick baby one day. :(

The Monkey did not turn out how I wanted it to. It looks like a mouse. The mouse on the other hand is super cute!

3 Day Weekend!!

Over the weekend, my parents came to watch the boys so the Hubby and I could have some time by ourselves. It was so nice to not have to worry about taking strollers and getting the boys in and out of the car or what we were going to feed them while we were out.

We went to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The weather was perfect! We had lunch there and then walked around looking at plants and flowers for a little over an hour. There are so many that I have never heard of. While we were standing in line to get lunch, a family got in line behind us. I didn't pay much attention to them and went to find a table. After ordering our food, Cody came up and said that he thought it was Vern Yip from HGTV that was behind us. We kept looking at him trying to decide if it was him. We looked up his picture when we got home and his bio (to see if he had a baby) and sure enough it was him. Too bad we didn't take a picture of him!

After leaving there we went shopping and then we had an early dinner at Ruby Tuesday. It was really yummy! By that point we missed the boys and wanted to get home to spend some time with them.

The boys had a blast with Granny and Pops. They watched Toy Story, went for a walk and played outside in the water.

Monday we went to Kohls and had family pictures taken at JCPenny! It was a great 3 day weekend with the family!


I forgot I saved this as a draft Tuesday and never published it. OOPS!!!

More things to be thankful for

Creative Letters

A few weeks ago I decided it was time to start teaching J his Alphabet. He wont be starting school for a couple more years, but I didn't want him to be unprepared when he does start. Maybe it's just the teacher in me. The ideas came from NoTimeForFlashcards, Totally Tots and some that I came up with myself or saw somewhere and I can't remember where. We started off slow at first by spending 3 days on the letter A.


A is for Alligator, Arm, airplane, Alien and 'little' a is for apple

Then we did letters B and C in a week.

B is for Bumble Bee, Butterfly, Bananas. "Little" b is for boat.

C is for Caterpillar and Cookie.

Followed by D and E in one week and F the next week.

D is for Dinosaur, Dog and Duck. E is for Elephant.
F is for Flag and Fox.

We took a small break before moving on to the next three letters.

G is for Goat, Goose and Giraffe.

H is for House and Handprint.

I is for Island and Iguana.

He is beginning to recognize letters while we are reading to him! Once we make it through all of the capital letters, I will put them in a notebook and we will have our very own ABC book.

1000 Blessings

For the past few weeks I have been looking for a reason to start blogging. Then last week I found my reason. I stumbled upon Bumblebee Grace's Blog where she keeps a weekly list of the little blessings found in each day, "1000 Gifts". I have decided that I am going to keep a list of 1000 blessings in my life. I am going to be more grateful for the little things in life. With an amazing husband, three handsome boys and a wonderful family it shouldn't be too hard!

1. Smiles and laughter from the boys


2. Open-mouth kisses from the twins
3. Hearing "I love you, Momma" in the middle of the day for absolutely no reason.
4. Air Conditioning
5. Two- hour naps
6. 15 extra minutes to cuddle with N
7. Warm weather so we can play outside
8. A wonderful sister-in-law that went to the store just for me
9. The smell of cookies baking
10. A clean house
11. No more bottles
12. Pizza delivery
